Hilong Petrochemical Research Institute

Hilong Petrochemical Research Institute focuses on the research of OCTG coatings & pipeline coatings, marine coatings, protective coatings, and the research of oilfield chemicals. It is a independent professional research institute in China to have developed the high quality internal and external special anticorrosion coatings for oil pipes.

Carrying forward the fine tradition, providing good services, accepting social supervision, abiding by the professional ethics, following the principles of honest, credibility and fair competition, committed to the research, technical development, technical transfer and technical service with respect to new anti-corrosion materials for such equipment as drill pipes, oil tubes, casing, petrochemical equipment and high-end equipment; committed to such technical services as the detection, evaluation and repair as to the integrity of anti-corrosion engineering of such equipment as drill pipes, oil tubes, casing, petrochemical equipemnt and high-end equipment; committed to the fundamental theoretical research as to the paint and coating discipline to promote the development and progress of coating science; committed to carrying out various forms of academic exchange and research activities in the petrochemical, to provide technical support and assurance for the development of the Hilong Group of Companies, and make positive contributions to the development of the national petroleum cause; determined to become the most professional and comprehensive new materials research institute in special petroleum pipe, buried petroleum and natural gas pipelines, petrochemical, high-end equipment anti-corrosion and oilfield chemicals.

Research fields

- OCTG Coatings: According to the environment and requirements of application for the domestic and foreign oil and gas fields, independently research and develop special anticorrosion coatings for internal and external oil drill pipe, casing and other special petroleum pipes.
- Pipeline Coatings: Development and application of products such as 3LPE(3LPP), adhesive, epoxy powder coating, drag reducing abrasion resistant coatings ,which are used on the steel pipeline equipment for oil and gas ,conveying brine, sewage and drinking water etc.
- Marine Coatings: Development and application of high-performance marine coatings.
- Protective Coatings: Development and application of high-performance protective coatings in such industries of as petro-chemical, offshore platform , heavy machinery, power plant, transportation and high-end architectures.
- Oilfield Chemicals: Engaged in the research and development of all kinds of chemicals in the process of oil exploration, drilling, transportation .

TC3000FP H2S\CO2 resistance epoxy powder coating TC3000FP H2S\CO2 resistance epoxy powder coating starting from October 2009, all product performance testing completed in March 2012. All of the product performance indicators either meet or exceed the technical requirements of the OMK Company.
TC3000C H2S&CO2 resistance internal coating TC3000C H2S&CO2 resistance internal coating Joint development with PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company and PetroChina Xi'an Pipe Research Institute starting from March 2010. The performance indicators of the coating passed the evaluation by Xi’an Pipe Research Institute, found to be up to standard. It has been actually applied in the Tarim Oilfield Well 721 and produced good effect. On July 18, 2012, the project psaaed the inspection by PetroChina. This inner coating material has been applied to the relevant projects of Oman Oil Co and CNOOC Iraq.
EC601 waterborne pipe outside protective coatingsThis product is free of organic solvent free and heavy metal salt, with such merits as being energy saving and emission reducing, safe and environment friendly, and convenient to use. At the same time it comes with excellent capabilities of decorating, anti-rusting and weather tolerating, among others, used for the decoration and protection of steel pipe, steel plates and steel structures, to name a few.
3LPP Pipeline coatings series3LPP system of anticorrosion jacket material, adhesive, welding epoxy powder coating: high softening point, high TG and high tolerance against cathodic stripping performance. They are used for high temperature pipeline and submarine pipeline corrosion prevention and insulation.
SN109SFPipeline coatings seriesSN109SF solvent free anti-drag and abrasion-resistant gas pipeline coatings: organic solvent free, with the advantages of energy saving and emission reduction, being safe and environment friendly. It also has better wear resistance and surface smoothness, used for the inner wall of large diameter long distance natural gas transmission pipelines.

Industry-University-Research Cooperation

Achieved outstanding results in a number of scientific researches and won the title of Industry-University-Research Cooperation Demonstration Enterprises and the Excellent University-Industry-Research Cooperation Project Award through the cooperation with Fudan University, East China University of Science and Technology and Shanghai University in carrying out a lot of university-industry-research cooperation projects, including post-doctoral moblie workstations, the research on anti-hydrogen sulfide pipe coatings for the natural gas development system, the high-performance maleic anhydride grafted PE adhesive production technology, and the development preparation and application of PE anti-corrosion material for long transmission pipelines in permafrost.
